How do I get my student ticket to home football games?
Student tickets to UAB Football games at Protective Stadium are available free of charge to all active UAB students with a valid ONE Card. NEW in 2024, UAB students can use their ONE card to scan and enter Protective Stadium on game days. On gamedays, students are encouraged to enter the South gates and may enter starting 90 minutes prior to kickoff. If any questions arise on game day, please visit the Protective Stadium South Box Office.
Student seating in the student section is available on a first come, first served basis in sections 112-120. UAB students can enter Protective Stadium through any gate with their ONE card, though the south entrances are most convenient.
ADA seating for students is available in the south endzone with ramp access.
Students can only use their own ONE Card. Students who violate this, or any provision, will be referred to the UAB Division of Student Affairs.
How do I get into the stadium and find my seat?

Once inside, students can access the seating area on the main concourse level in Sections 112-120. The Gang Green student section is a general admission, first-come first-served area and is adjacent to the UAB Marching Blazers in Section 121. Wear green and be loud! There are no pass-outs and re-entry is not allowed.
Can I purchase away game tickets through UAB?
Yes. A limited number of away game tickets are available to UAB fans on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the UAB Athletics Ticket Office at Bartow Arena or call (205) 975-UAB1 to purchase.
Will I be allowed to re-enter the stadium if I leave?
Re-entry is not allowed at Protective Stadium.
Who is eligible for a student ticket?
UAB students currently enrolled full-time (taking 12 or more credits) are eligible for student admission at all UAB sporting events.
I am a student and need ADA seating, how do I go about doing that?
ADA seating for students is available in the south endzone with ramp access. Please contact the UAB Athletics ticket office in advance to learn more. If any questions arise on game day, please visit the Protective Stadium South Box Office.
What if I misplace my student ID or it is broken or can’t be read – will I still be able to get in?
UAB students must have their ONE Card swiped to gain admittance into UAB Athletics events. If you misplace your card, you will need to get a new ID through the One Card services department on campus. If your ONE Card is broken or can’t be read, you will need to see the box office for assistance. No other photo ID will be accepted for admission.
How may I submit comments, suggestions, concerns, or questions regarding student access to Protective Stadium on game days?

Transportation
How do I get to the games?
The Blazer Express shuttle services from the Hill Student Center and will be available during the 2024 season. The shuttle service is complimentary and available to UAB students and the public. No reservations are required. The Blazer Express shuttles depart UAB’s campus from the Hill Student Center beginning four hours prior to kickoff and drops fans off in the bus loop adjacent to the BJCC Exhibition Hall on Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. The Blazer Express shuttle service concludes one hour following the conclusion of the game. Shuttles will run approximately every 20-30 minutes Seating for the shuttles is first-come first-served. Please be advised that the shuttle service speed is dependent on traffic in and around the stadium. It is recommended to begin your route to the stadium early to avoid long wait times and crowded shuttles.
Limited parking is available to UAB students in the Orange Lot (Lot P13). However, students are encouraged to ride the complimentary Blazer Express shuttle from UAB’s campus.
Can I Uber or Lyft to/from the stadium?
Absolutely. The Uber/Lyft pick-up and drop-off spot is also located in the bus loop adjacent to the BJCC Exhibition Hall on Richard Arrington Boulevard. Direct your driver to Protective Stadium and look for the signs on game day.
Student Tailgating
Where can my student organization set up on game day?
Student organizations may set up as part of the student tailgate area per the policy below on pass pick up. There are no student organizations permitted to set up inside the Blazer Village area or around the Protective Stadium concourse. It is encouraged to represent your student organization loud and proud on game day!
Where can I tailgate prior to the game?
A new and improved student tailgate location right in the heart of Uptown and Blazer Walk! Reserved tailgate space passes will be available for students to pick up on Mondays before each game starting at 9 a.m. from the UAB Athletics Ticket Office at Bartow Arena located on UAB’s campus. Student tailgate passes for the opener against Alcorn State will be available starting on Monday, August 19 at 9 a.m.
Student tailgate passes are available on a first come, first served basis until all passes have been distributed. Students picking up passes can secure one reserved tailgate space per organization/group to maximize the space available for all.
Drop off within the student tailgate space requires the tailgate pass to be present. Each pass is game specific and cannot be duplicated and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
The student tailgate lot is open pregame beginning four hours prior to the scheduled game time. The student tailgate lot closes thirty minutes prior to kickoff each game.
Please note, vehicles are not allowed inside of the reserved tailgate area. They will be allowed to access the area adjacent to the student tailgate only during designated set-up and break-down times.
Am I able to leave my belongings in the tailgating area when I leave to go to the game?
Minimal security will be present in the tailgating area, and students will be permitted to leave personal belongings at their own risk. UAB Athletics is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.
Parking
Where is student parking located?
Student parking is complimentary on a first-come, first-served basis in the Orange Lot (Lot P13). UAB students must show a valid ONE Card for entry into the lot.
Once the reserved student parking lot – Lot P13 – is filled, any remaining students have the option to pay onsite in one of the available single game parking lots.
Limited parking is available to UAB students, and students are encouraged to ride the complimentary Blazer Express shuttle from UAB’s campus.
I forgot/lost my reserved tailgate parking pass, how can I get into the area?
Reserved student tailgate access to claim the assigned space requires a reserved tailgate parking pass to be shown. Each pass is game specific and cannot be duplicated and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter area to set up without the designated pass.
Stadium Services
Are umbrellas allowed in the stadium?
No. Click here for a list of Protective Stadium prohibited items.
Are there designated smoking areas within the stadium?
No. Protective Stadium is smoke free facility.
If someone is using obscene language or disturbing my gameday experience, who should I contact?
Event security and police will be on hand throughout the venue on game days to provide necessary assistance. Please direct your concerns to the appropriate individuals. In addition, be sure to check posted signage to identify first aid stations, restrooms, lost and found, concessions and information kiosks around the stadium.
Is alcohol sold on game days inside Protective Stadium?
Yes. Alcohol is available for fans ages 21 and over in the areas around and inside Protective Stadium on game day. Sales inside of the stadium conclude at the end of the 3rd quarter. Valid ID is required.
